LIPSTICKTRACEZ// INDIE DAD FATHER'S DAY PROFILE

LipstickTracez welcomes indie Dad Franklin Sirmans and family to Los Angeles.    Franklin is joined by his wife, Jessica and baby Stella.      One of their favorite pastimes is going to museums and checking out art.  Luckily, when you are the  new Curator of Contemporary Art at the LACMA, that is all in a day's work.  I see Stella running around the sculpture gardens and exhibits already.  The daughter of a former college athlete, Stella will no doubt be playing soccer and golfing as soon as she can walk.  Franklin and family were photographed in the gardens at LACMA by Matt Hoover.

A little info about Franklin and his work:

Since January 2010, Franklin Sirmans is the Terri and Michael Smooke Department Head and Curator of Contemporary Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. He is the curator of recent exhibitions on Steve Wolfe and Vija Celmins which both traveled to LACMA. At LACMA, Sirmans has installed Color and Form, selections from the Broad Collection to coincide with the museum’s presentation of Blinky Palermo and an exhibition of selections from the permanent collection titled Human Nature (cocurated with Christine Y. Kim). He is at work on a solo project with Ai Weiwei.
